In approximate terms, this trail runs north from a trailhead west of Barrie
and ends just north of Elmvale, a distance of just over 30 km. If you do not
like the linear aspect of cycling a 30 km trail, then park at the Minesing
Station Park and work either north or south. I started just north of county road
90 on Pinegrove Road and headed north.
Simcoe County trail map
Pinegrove Road entrance just north off county road 90
go south from Pinegrove entrance 1.8 km and trail ends!
trail surface is hard packed stonedust
Mayer's wetland outlook and info sheets
ghost town and wonderful trail signage
Minesing Station Park
When you reach Antem Mills, read the historical signage and look for the trail.
It continues across the road and to the right ..... seems to be over a lawn. But
soon it reverts to hard packed stonedust as you head towards Phelpston. Again,
read the historical signage and look at the church. North of Phelpston,
you quickly realize from the signage that this is really a winter trail
obviously a winter use sign
nice trail through rural settings
trail ends, turn on to road and then along Usher Road
close to Elmvale trail overgrown
A very warm day when I cycled the trail, so we stopped in Elmvale after 30 km.
(Sept. 07) Plan to return and complete the Tiny Trail northwards.
