The Victoria Rail Trail runs between Bethany and Haliburton. The South Corridor runs between Bethany and Lindsay, while  the North Corridor runs between Lindsay and Haliburton. At this point, summer 2007, I have cycled the trail from Bethany to Fenelon Falls. One warning is that ATV use is permitted on all parts of the trail ..... with negative consequences for the trail surface for cyclists. The south section surface often consists of large stone railway ballast materials. The north section surface varies from hard packed stone dust to gravel with frequent 'mud holes' created by the atv traffic. In several areas sand has been used to repair the trail ..... not a good material for cyclists. Later this summer  (2007) I plan to complete the ride northwards.
